HISTORICAL TEACHINGS FROM THE MEDIEVAL PERIODS
German Longsword
Longsword is the quintessential weapon of the medieval knight. I teach longsword in the tradition of Johannes Liechtenauer and the five master cuts.
Ringen
Ott Jude told us that wrestling is the basis of all fighting. This is as true today as it was in medieval times and it is surprising how common wrestling with the sword is.
Messer
I teach messer in the tradition of Johannes Leckuchner. Used by the lowliest pauper and beloved by the highest of royalty, the messer, or long knife, is the often-forgotten weapon of history.
Rondel
The dagger is an essential tool in the knight’s arsenal. Whether on the battle field or in a judicial duel, the dagger is rightfully feared as a fight ender.
